    E30 "speed sensing wipers" conversion - $125

I've built 3 of these - decided it was too much work to build more. So two will be for sale (only two are complete right now and one is in my car).

What does it do? If you've ever driven a newer BMW (E34, E36, etc), when you come to a stop the wipers switch down to a lower speed. So if your wipers are set to slow, they will wipe at 1/2xSlow, if they are at normal, they will switch to slow. It sort of gives you a 4 speed wiper instead of the 3 speeds we have now. Perfect if you live in the drizzly PNW.

What is it? It's basically an adapter for the wiper relay off an E36. It plugs into the fuse box of your E30 - you'll need to make a small notch next to the latch (can put in a grommet if you like).

How to I install it? Plug it into the fuse box. Make the notch as mentioned above. Splice the VSS input from the C101 connector, and cut/splice the park/run input from the motor.

Can I reverse it back to stock? Yes. Unplug it, put your old relay back in. reconnect the park/run wire from the switch to the motor.

    in my car (temporarily located):

the first one comes with the module for $125. The second will be the adapter only - $100. You can buy E36 modules on ebay for about $25 shipped.

This is awesome. I love this about my e36, especially when I come to a stop at a light.
Wish I had the money at the moment. GLWS

oh I think this might work on E28s too - they have the same relay as E30s.

Where do the 2 small wires connect to?

brown/green/yellow replaces the park/run wire from the switch to the motor
black/white is VSS input - either from the back of the cluster, or from the C101 connector in the engine bay.
