can anyone post any links to more info on the 2.8 m20 setup. Isn't a lot of machining necessary on the piston skirts and bottom of the bores. dont mean to crap up your thread just figured the ppl viewing this would know where there is good info on this.Dave @ Bimmerbuddies

IIRC. There was little to no machining. There is a large write up on e30tech about the build.
I never said it would jump together if you just lay the parts together on the workbench. This spacer is needed no matter what non m20 crank you use.
I was just pointing out a better build and return for your money than the 2.7i is.
In any event, machining piston skirts is not extensive work for an engine build. It is not like you are machining gear sets out of bar stock. Assemble, check clearances, mark interference, grind away, recheck, proceed building motor. Honestly if that is beyond your abilities, I would confided having someone build your motor. Not a put down, bit being honest. Odds are you will not be able to do it correctly and have issues down the road.seien Sie größer, als Sie erscheinen
