    Parting out '85 Euro 325e

I have an '85 Euro 325e that I am parting out. Its a 4 door with 158,xxx miles. It has:

-new tan cloth interior in it that I am in the process of taking out and cleaning
    -Euro rear bumper
-Euro gages with mph speedometer (euro gas gage and mpg gage)
    -Relatively good shape Bronzit body

I'm taking the transmission out but let me know what other parts you are in need of.

Sorry about that. I'm in Virginia.

I'm not exaclty sure if it has the higher compression pistons. I've actually been trying to determine that. Is there any way to see if it does by a code on the block or anything like that?

Just a little update on the car. I've just recently received the car for its transmission, so I haven't been able to look it over in great detail. I only have the rear bumper because the front one was in a fender bender and was thrown away before I bought the car. The gage cluster appears to work fine along with the warning lights above the rearview mirror (which has all of the words in German). If you need any pictures or any other parts just let me know and I can e-mail the pics and let you know about the other. I'm still not sure on what to ask for this stuff so if you guys have any offers I will definitely consider them.

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but I'm 99.9% positive that the European market didn't get the 325e. The only variant of the eta motor sold in Europe was in the 525i. If it has a 325e badge on it, I'm willing to bet it was just rebadged, and incorrectly. What county was it originally from?

I will gladly correct you :) I have sitting in my garage the exact same car - an 85 325e "grey market." Must have come from canada - but it's definitely a euro.

I'd like the bumper mounting brackets, if you got them. Also, I'd like the rear bumper if whoever above falls through or isnt interested!

I have a Canadian spec (Euro Delivery) 1986 325e and I can assure you that it has the good ole bulky 5-mph diving board bumpers on it. Canada for the most part follows the US -I also have the 3rd brake light which was new that year for both Canada and US.

The only thing 'Euro" about it my car is that the cluster is in km/h instead of mile. And that it came with a storage tray, triangle, and first aid kit in the back--I think that was because you need that by law while driving in Europe.

I really don't know where his Euro 325e came from...maybe some other contry but it wasn't Canada..

Well, my euro came from Canada, as far as I know, and it had euro bumps, 2002 side markers added on the front and rear, everything in german inside, the only US thing was a speedo/odo in mph, and there's a sticker on the back of it saying what shop did it. Rear fog, too, btw.

Are you sure yours isn't just a car someone put some euro parts on?

Ive had my car since day 1 in 1986 when we picked it up Germany,
but it was built for Canada (export model) and is thus the same as
cars sent to canada, except for the storage tray which was related
to the fact that we drove it in Germany from 86 to 87 and by law
you are requireed to have a triangle and first aid kit there.

My car is a Canadian Spec model and it has US style diving board bumpers, and everthing is in English, but a KM/H cluster. Your car has Euro bumpers and a MPH cluster, and then 2002 side markers.....hmmmm....
Nobody living in Canada would put in an MPH cluster because all the signs are in km/h (can you tell I am Canadian).

Either it was a Canadian model originally 325e and some enthusiast "upgraded" to 2002 side makers, US (mph cluster), and put on Euro
bumpers and imported the German check control and stick it on.......or maybe it was a grey market car, imported to Canada, then re-badged 325e by way of a trunk swap...

You should check the stickers everywhere including the ones on the doors -I can check mine if necessary to see what to look for...and if I were you I would look at the engine carefully...it's possible you have a 323i there with a 735 Euro head on it, great for mixing with the bottom end of an Eta....

I have an 86 eta parts car US spec and it is nearly identical to mine except for the cluster (MPH vs KM/H) I can't find any other differences, except that for some reason it is slightly harder to get at the spark plugs in the parts car..

Maybe you can also post pics of the car and particularly the engine compartment....my battery is my trunk ...is yours?
