He means these.

Basically the plastic piece on the rear window. See them mostly on mustangs etc. But they made them for e30s and are pretty hard to come by. More "common" in europe though.

Hey, finally in a place to buy some euro bumpers if possible.

Also, haven't seen a straight answer on this - do they mount up as a direct replacement for the US driving boards, and would I need a euro specific valence or will my early model valence fit?

There is a boatload of info on the forums about this.

EDIT: Here's a REALLY great post on e30tech showing US euro conversions. It includes a vert that has a US DB valance modified to look like a eurovalance.

Good pics of my US DB euro conversion here. I've captured alot of it in my build thread here here and here. Short answer on US DB euro conversion:

-- the metal "front panel" that people call valance used on a US DB car is different. you end up with large gaps on both ends below the front euro bumper.

-- you can reuse the plastic "front spoiler" part if you want to.

-- there are mounting holes in the US rear that will need to be sealed. Also the rear tail panel / valance on a US DB car does not extend as low as a face lifted E30. So you're gonna see the spare tire hump from behind.

-- parking light connectors are different. most folks cut and replace them but there's a guy in NC that modified them so that he didn't have to cut his factory wiring.
