Low Mileage 2.5L M20 - Must Go

FOR SALE is an '87 325i M20 long block with 76k. Brand new accessory belts and timing belt. No ac, alternator or steering pump. Compression 185, 185, 165, 150, 175, 180. I picked this up last week to swap into my IX only to find the block on the I is completely different. Purchased at National Auto Recycling in Lancaster, MA for $1300 with 1-year warranty (starting 9/9/11), willing to trade for comparable IX engine or $1150 obo.

Ummm.....
Pretty sure the I and IX are the same engine but maybe different oil pans.

That can fit into an ix. Don't let people tell you other wise because it's been done. I know you need to bend the dip stick and swap the oil pan and there's a few other things but you can use that motor just search around.
