ok screw it we dont need to take it to pm's haha this is too fun.

This is what I found with the abe number on the side.

I would be curious to know what a real evo3 seats abe number is so we can try to find a diagram. all the pics I can find that seem legit seem to have the larger bolsters. It should definitely have an old abe number and nothing current. if we find something with a current abe we know it is a newer seat and not original.

Alright since this is all in good fun... haha. To add to this cluster fuck of hearsay. Here is another explanation to the differences between the SR and SRD.

this ridiculousness it just seems to get thicker and thicker I might be wrong and if not than here was 2 different sr seats on the evoIII and one had larger bolster and one smaller but still a SR.which would mean I should have bought your seats!!!but still I don't know till some EVO III owners chime in with what is in there car.I say it is about time this gets solved !than I will learn that even long time members make mistakes!
that diagram just confuses me more it says speed/sr5?

I want to see diagrams from recaro!!!! We need the original part number and not someone who is saying they have evo3 seats. A lot of the pics have the seats recovered and who knows what they are. That's why I tried to find the original brochure pic.

It says speed because that would have been the new model name and the sr was the old seat... there is more to it and we need to find it! Yeah you should have just traded me your seats and we could have been done with this haha

or two sets of seats lol.I know if this finally gets solved and you find out it is the same as EVOIII seats they will sell for sure and fast!!!!!

I think those seats have been recovered. From what I have been seeing is that they were available in gray cloth and leather

what's really funny is that it's the back which is classified as "SR" and the bottoms dictate the suffix ie. SRA, SRB, SRC, SRD.

please tell me this is what you guys are arguing about, seeing as it appears to state it right in the RECARO catalogue page listed here.

As to which "is" the correct one, not sure personally but this seems to make sense to me...

Yeah thats what makes sense to us to. It was just mentioned that the EVO3 SR seats have narrow upper bolsters like the SPEED seats, but that didn't make sense to me. But it looks like there may be subtle differences in the SR model in general. I don't even know anymore haha.

All the arguing and the the last letter dictates the Base of the seat.

This was beat to death on S14 already. Bottom line is does it really matter? even people who own the Evo 3's couldn't tell you. I sat in one locally and to me the seat resembles an SRD more than my SR3's (just with more headrest) but the guy in Germany sells them as "SR's" which sparked this entire debate. SRD's tend to have a short headrest though. These subtle differences are hard to capture in a photo. You really have to see the seats in person.
