This is probably a dumb question, but hey, I'm learning.

If I'm starting with a completely stock M20B25, what "supporting" modifications would you do to get the most out of a head like this? Are there worthwhile gains from running this with just a chip and some bigger injectors?

I would be keeping it naturally aspirated. I can't help but be interested in what seems to be a very fine product. Thanks for any advice.

I just want to ask to be 100% sure, but you are supplying the heads? We don't ship you our heads to have this done?

Will definitely be sending you a note in June/July when I start my E30 build for boost! What cam grind spec do you recommend for boost (between 8 - 15 psi)

Yes, you will still get power gains from an off the shelf chip and 17/19lb injectors.

To maximize power you'd want to do a MAF conversion, possibly WAR chip or Megasquirt if you want to get serious. Some headers and a nice exhaust are always compliment the better flowing head too. None of this is a "must" though.

We build heads from in-house cores. You do NOT need to supply a core head.

That was my impression, thank you! I'll probably be back once spring rolls around. :D

Toss me a PM, but how much am I looking at a factory fresh head? No polishing, no porting, no regrinds, etc Just a nice 885 B25 head

Would there be any chance of M42 heads being done?

I am sorry for not replying to this sooner.

We do not have any M42 cylinder head cores available. It is definitely something we can do and we HAVE done one for a happy customer. If you'd like to ship your head to us drop me a PM and we can work out pricing.

                              Thanks,
                              Matt

so I've done some researching....do I need to run an adjustable cam gear with a hotter cam?

I've read countless threads on here and e30tech saying some guys don't and some do......doesn't make sense....piston contact or no?....if I don't stay anal on my valve adjustments how much danger am I putting myself into? Should I just stay on a stock or very mild cam?

also...what would I need to source from my original head to the new one in order to run this?

I know stretch bolts are used for the head and are one time use.....but what about the exhaust and intake mani studs? should they be replaced?

I'm 90% on an oem head gasket kit, buying a t-belt+tensioner and doing the water pump again if it has any play in it at all...its only like 10k old..

what else will I need? sorry if I'm derailing the thread but I've searched here and e30tech to my wits end.
