I covered expenses for last 2 set to complete order and sold one of those spots.

All the group buy ordered have been filled in the past. I believe that Frank just doesn't want to be left holding the ball this time around. When taking small deposits, the seller is at the mercy of the buyer to follow through when final payment is due. This is what happened in the past, people pay the small deposit, then changed their mind once the headers were built, then Frank had to sit on the headers and sell them piece meal which took some time. This time around, it's either buy them, or not. If someone changes their mind, then they will be left to sell their own set, not one guy sitting on several.

To tell the story of how trustworthy Frankie is, a local recently was going to purchase one of his cars. Came to the shop, gave a deposit and asked for a bunch of work to be done to the car before delivery. Frank worked on that car all week, only for the buyer to back out. In all honesty, I felt the deposit should have been lost since p[arts were purchased/installed, and the work was done. Well Frank called it a loss and gave all the monies back to the purchaser.

Just my $.02, and BTW I have no affiliation with the group buy, Frank is in direct contact with the manufacturer.

Yes, need to pay for ordered items when placing order.

No, GB was not in the air nor with lack of control, it was waiting for enough interested buyers as to make it possible,
now that they are all accounted for I started taking deposits so it will be in control.

Rules are set as in per first group buy, there will be no issues as I can finance it myself, just don't see it to be a necessity this time around.
If it's a few buyers short to complete then I'll go ahead and add some of my own funds to complete order.
Never had anyone been chained to buy nor their funds held if asked for a refund.

I can always place order again or ask to extend offer, but posting that would create further delays by enticing "Johnny Come Lately" buyers, lets not do that !!!

Again, terms updated as to when I started taking deposits, I would appreciate not muddying the waters with miss information nor paranoia.

I think it's appropriate to point out changes so there are no surprises since people signed up under slightly different deal description back in '18.

I put all changes in red. Right now we need 20 people to submit the payment in full so the order can be placed and the production can begin. Am I understanding this correctly?

Someone mentioned PP dispute process which is the route no one ever wants to go unless absolutelly have to. With that being said.... the payments are maid to your PP and unfortunately you have no control of the actual production hence this GB was up in the air for awhile (again, please correct me if I'm wrong).

Are you placing any rules how this GB will be handled? For example, you mentioned that the delivery time is maximum 6 weeks. So if nothing is received (e.g. by the week 8), participants will be refunded 100% in full.
Or let's say we got 16 people paid in full and it takes 3 month to find another 4 to pay. Are there some sort of established timeframes ....let's say if no payment is received by all 20 in 30 days, GB is canceled and everyone is refunded in full on the day #31.



I'm still obviously interested ....just want to know what we are getting into.

I also want to thank you again for organizing and taking a huge responsibility for this GB.

Great news on the first mold! Not finding the fitment details or any mention of a down pipes in the first 35pg thread. Can you clarify here? Will these directly bolt to a factory mid section and the motor without modification? Any pictures of these downpipes that are made in the USA?

I am happy to put a full payment in within 4 weeks of expected delivery. Once you go beyond 30 days, you are no longer able to dispute charges on your card. So, if they headers don’t ship or don’t come as advertised, the buyers have no way to recoup the loss.

Hi NeverEnough, they'll be direct bolt onto motor, down pipes bolt onto headers and then you can ither weld them to oem pipes or use a sleeve set up., I welded my set. including pictures of down pipes, they were manufactured by Stromung in SoCal.

You make a valid point as far as Paypal, but as other member mentioned you are protected up to 180 days.

I for one been in the e30 community for close to 20 years now, trust is earned keep by being honest, as such it's a 2 way street, with Peerless from e30motorwerks whom I entrusted and helped me distribute and enlisted shop next door to produce down pipes, by Jeff at IE whom gave my last sets of headers to sell even so it was a competing item as Peerless retired from e30's, from John Mason whom broke bread at my table and veseversa and used my cabrio to redevelop his X brace to clear IE's sway bars and Tree house lollipops, from Condor Speed shop whom i personally visit a few times a month, from Force Firebird at WOT-Tech where Im wrenching at and hold keys to shop, from RD's founder whom trust me not to run his legacy into the mud and said "it's your baby, you deal with it., the list goes on and on. basically from the actual simplicity of using my name as my membership name and Fporro LLC
