V1 Description: Radar circuitry known in-house as V1.7 gives high performance on all radar bands. Also, it remembers your "mode" setting when shut off, and has a stack of four LEDs on front panel for band identification. Front and rear laser.
Upgrade Recommendation: This version is not quite up to today's V1 standard for Ka, though it's always better than detectors from other makers. X and K performance is excellent. But the many improvements made since this V1 was new tip the balance in favor of upgrading. Crystal-controlled frequency tuning of later V1's safeguards coverage at the edges of the radar band. Plus you'll get our latest laser warning (front and rear), which outperforms the competitors by a wide margin, and POP Protection. Also included is Euro Mode, Traffic Monitor Filter to eliminate false alarms caused by SpeedInfo, a traffic-flow monitoring system that sends frequent K-band radar bursts into the traffic stream, and ESP (Extended Serial Protocol).
