They have tune/chip you can buy, but from my experience ( I have them on M20) you are going to get the most out of them with a stand alone and or a MAF or MAF delete like with MS. MSII also has tuning for ITBs that is a speed density alpha n blend.

I purchased an Ostrich 2.0 emulator and other items to tune the engine myself because I wasn't starting with a stock M42.

No, they are a direct bolt-on part. There's a guy in the bay area that is running these on a regular M42 MarkD chip. He told me that it doesn't run perfect, but he can daily drive it. As i've read on the forums, MarkD has helped another member setup a good tune specifically for the ITBs in the past.
