Sure. You can put it in, but without the correct assembly its not that great.
Without what correct assembly? It uses the exact assembly that any e30 sunroof uses.

If you look between your sunroof headliner and the sunroof you'll see that there's only six bolts holding on your sunroof... Unbolt those six bolts...then drop in the glass moonroof... Bolt in the moonroof using the same six bolts, then your done.

This a complete one that sold for 400 with the proper hardware. The slider is able to slide with the roof retracting. Its a different piece.

Other than mine... I've seen two glass moonroofs in person, both were friends. They both had manual sliders. You have to push the slider back before the moonroof opens. The part you see in his picture is the headliner and that winged part you see conning from it are the rails that even your stock sunroof headliner has...

The stock sunroof headliner goes back automatically because it has snap tabs that are connected to the sunroof... How can the non attached headliner automatically go back by its self when you open the moonroof?

If there's a way, that's freakin awesome, but from what I've seen its always manual.

It's not manual, there's a tiebar that rides in the track with the panel. It's attached to the slider and pushed by the trailing edge of the glass panel when it's retracted. From what I can tell, this piece seems like it's broken or left behind as irrellivant when people pull the glass roof kits. Mine has all the bits and retracts the sunshade as a unit when the glass is opened. You still have to manually move the slider if you vent the roof though. I'm looking into modifying my sunshade so that it has slits to allow ventilation while closed so I don't always have to bake in the hot sun.

edit: I can supply photos of the entire glass setup outside of the car if anyone is interested. shoot me a pm.
