Are hand cranks specific to early or late model E30s like the power windows?

I have only seen them on one e30 (a 1984 318 ) and that is where these came from.
I "think" they will bolt on to any E30 coupe door but the only side windows that will bolt to them are 84'-9/88'. That being said, if you get windows that were used with the S-shaped regulators, everything should work OK. If I am wrong on this please correct me someone.

You're correct, you'll need early model windows to work with them.

No those will not fit on a plastic bumper car... door window mounts changed with the facelift

These will work with plastic bumper cars if you use early model side windows (made before 9/88'). On the facelift cars the regulators were changed and the way the windows mount to the regulator was changed. If you get some early E30 side windows and these regulators you can have hand crank windows on your coupe.
