I think that would make them more likely to slip - in any case, I haven't had any troubles. I replaced all the hardware on mine with stainless to make sure they don't interfere with my cam sensor as well.

I asked specifically about the teeth fitment because I have the original RMR gear and it definitely doesn't fit the belt correctly. was hoping maybe they'd fixed it.. it works, but it makes belt changes a pain in the ass.

There are no issues with fitment of the belt to this gear. This is version 3.

If we didn't like it we wouldn't sell it. Simple as that.

I will gladly pay for the peace of mind that comes with buying from a reputable seller in the e30 community VS some unknown Ebay seller in China.

Is it just hardware that's improved? I bought an ebay one and never used it yet?

I too have an eBay gear nib, but I purchased one of these to use instead, based purely on the reputation of Mr 325.
I am sure he wouldn't sell a product he didn't trust. I can't say the same for a random eBay seller located in China.

I am just wondering the difference?
did you see a difference besides hardware?

I haven't compared them, and my car is still at the painters, so I haven't installed it either. If I get a chance over the weekend I will put them side by side, and check how well a new belt fits in each.

I just would like to know the advantages of this one vs the ebay one. That will help me decide if I need to toss mine and buy this one or just buy hardware for the one I currently have, I will be installing my new gates belt/cx radiator/waterpump and tensioner etc soon, thanks.

The benefits, as I see them: improved hardware, claimed better fit to the belt, and like I said, a reputable seller who may be able help you if things go wrong.

Plus, supporting a forum/community member and an enthusiast vendor is always a good thing.

No need to toss the eBay one. Just re sell it to someone to recoup your money.

I wouldn't of bought the ebay one first if i had known of this one, I would hope the OP would chime in and convince me to buy his and toss mine ? If the ebay one is no good I throw it out it, it was 30$ (I don't want anyone else dealing with crap, it's an important part.)

As cylinder head builders we install cam gears all the time. These gears we sell have had better hardware, better fitment to the camshaft, and better timing belt fitment consistently. We wouldn't sell something that we wouldn't be willing to use on our own vehicles! (Not to mention correct timing markings).

so if i understand this right, these are ebay ones you modify with new hardware, make sure they fit onto the cam properly (machine them if needed) and make sure the timing marks are set correctly? and we are paying a small labor fee for this.

also is there any advantage of using one of these with ms3?

are these in stock and ready to ship also?
