I really tried to justify saving it. Maybe for someone with excellent skills in bodywork or access to more cash than would make sense it would there would be justification for restoring it but for me it wasn't there. I would say that the damage exceeded what the normal DIY R3v'er would be able to do and/or beyond what would make sense to spend on a not-that-rare chassis. Much of the euro stuff was damaged and the radiator area was beyond a home repair for most people.

Not that it isn't sad to see it parted but the previous owner did nto have a great track record with e30s. The one I bought from him was also damaged- just not as badly.

I even talked to the Guten Parts guys to see whether it was worth saving and they noted that it was better as a parts car than a rebuild effort.

AFM is from the m20b25 thats in the car right now. The one from the b23 (if it's different) didn't come with the car and neither did the ECU.

Yeah, I was planning on rebuilding it originally but after I got it home and started looking at it more carefully I started to realize I didn't have the funds to rebuild it. I had a good front end available for free but it wouldn't have been a euro valance, I don't have experience with that in depth of bodywork, and it would have ended up being an expensive hack job. Once my dad started to need the storage space and encouraged me to either fix the thing or get rid of it before long I decided to cut my losses and part it.

Would you sell and ship just the 731 head?

So I'm STILL having trouble with the front bumper. Maybe someone on here can help. It had reinforcement bars installed and the bumper is smashed enough that I cant really tell where/how the thing is attached. I removed the 2 nuts that normally hold the bumper on and can't find anything else. Any suggestions?

Random question but how old was the PO? I went to Washington and Lee and I noticed the big sticker on the rear window. Lexington had a high E30 per capita ratio now that I think of it haha.
