    E36 Steering rack. SOLD!

Im selling my leaking E36 steering rack. 3.2 turns lock-to-lock. One of the boots is torn. In an M42 car the steering effort is very tolerable with the p/s disconnected. Not, however, tolerable for the wife. So I replaced it.
It comes with E30 inner/outer tie rods. everything is tight and I will include the shims required to space it down (place them above the rack, trust me)

    SOLD.

You say "Where are your other two cylinders?"
I say "Where's your other camshaft?"

I may be interested...but I am working on a manual rack solution at the moment. How difficult was the steering?

It is perfect while driving and only slighlty difficult as you get pas 180deg on the wheel. I am not overly strong by any means and could one-hand it into a parking space. Under an M42 that is.

Is this an M3 rack or a regular e36 rack?

Here's the part number. It is a regular E36 rack from a 325i.

Did you ever have this rack hooked up with power steering?

Yes. Until, that is, I got tired of the fluid on my garage floor. It would go through a reservoir's worth of fluid about every 2 months of 40mi/day driving. It left a half-dollar-sized drip on the floor every night. I hate leaks so I pulled it.
