Let me begin by saying that I've had a lot of fun with this engine and that I don't want to sell it but I need to get rid of it as it is not practical for my life..
I drive a lot and having this engine in my car sitting at home is not what I had in mind... With that said I've decided to throw it up for sale in hopes of making someone's dream swap come true without having to source an engine out of the country as well as putting some change back in my pocket.
I bought the car with this engine installed from a marine friend of mine who had sourced the whole swap from an engine dealer out in Ireland.
Originally when he had brought it over from overseas, it had approx. 90k miles and came from a 1997 BMW M3 coupe out in Ireland that had been parted out..
The whole swap was then put into a donor 1998 BMW 318ti in which I have in my possession currently.. The swap was done at a shop out in Boston, I have a video somewhere of the shop sending a video showing when they had completed the swap with all the dash components working but I will post that when I get onto a computer as I am posting by iPhone right now...
Odometer on my M3 gauges was set at 136,XXX k miles when engine was installed, odometer currently reads 156,XXX k miles
Anyways, here are the specifics.
S50B32 Evo M3 3.2l engine with stock ITBs with 110k ~ miles
6 speed original M3 transmission
Velocity stacks are not cracked and look like new
New OEM clutch and OEM flywheel installed at the time of swap (90k ~ miles)
Timing chain tensioner replaced at 105k ~ miles
Oil changes every 3k miles done with Mobil 1 0W40 oil
AC still blows cold and works great
Spark plugs changed at 90k miles
Rev limiter set at 7,800 RPM
Haven't ran any compression or leak down tests because I do not have the necessary tools to do so and work has me swamped every day.
Engine is still currently installed in my BMW 318ti and can be checked out before purchasing... Will remove engine, trans, ecu, and all necessary components for the swap after cash is in hand.
Asking $4,500 for everything
