You should look up the rubber-ish/foam material that some people use to wrap over a stock wheel, and then you stitch a leather cover over it. You can add some nice thickness to a otherwise thin rim. I think I have some links saved if you want them.

I do mostly thickened wheels that have the added foam padding. Hard to tell in pictures, but you can definitely tell in the feel.Comment

Sorry for the pic quality. I have gotten lucky with some of the people getting their wheels done taking awesome photos, but I will see if I can get my hands on a decent camera since I only have photos of about a third of the wheels I do.Comment
