So I had some spare time and a few cores lying around: my dad provided the high output LEDs and resistors; and the result are these:
100% functioning
100% tested inside an actual functioning OBC
I used white LEDs because the OBC screen itself has an orange fiber display: using say, a yellow or orange light will only disrupt the wavelength of the output light and display either a color that is too yellow and bright (Yellow LED) or too dark (Orange LED).
You want white LEDs, and that's what you're getting with these. On top of these; these are high-intensity/high drive LEDs not available for commercial purchase (seeing as my dad works at an electronics company). These are guaranteed to last long before anything else on the car does.

This was the original bar I made for my car about 2 years ago, and its still going strong
Here is a night picture: I didn't want to post this because The camera makes it look yellow but I can assure you it is very orange and matches the OBC and other interior lights 100%. This is just showing light compared to the other buttons
