I am making a couple sets of adapters for myself. They are so i can install euro smiley ellipsoids in my use car without hacking or hardwiring. Anybody with soldering skills and a good local hardware store can do this but i figured i would offer since i am going through the trouble myself. These will be for adapting the usa 9005/9006 headlights to the euro plugs, including daytime running light (you still have to run one wire to tap the bumper or sidemarker lights). These will be plug and play otherwise, and the harness itself will be attached to the headlight base to look as oem as possible.
Interested in buying plug and play USA > Euro smilies wiring harness adapters?

MR325 used to make these. I actually asked him if he would allow me to continue making them last year, but I never got a response. I didn't want to start trouble so decided not to make them.

It's not like it's a patented design. There are multiple ways to go about it, I settled on one design so we'll see how it goes. Got pics of those other ones? I'm still trying to find a cheaper way to have all new parts, each wire plug new from dealer is like $5 each and a set uses 12 of them. I didn't even do the full math my prices might even be too low.Comment

This is the mess of stuff i'm starting with. I prefer Bosch so that's what i'm using but it's the same as hella. I also have an aftermarket set of crosshairs i'll be doing too.

These are the not cheap connectors. The nicer 9005/9006 adapters are specific and have the single or dual plastic tabs while the not cheap are universal and fit either.

These things cost almost $5 each new

This is how the stock connectors go. I'm gonna look to see if the connectors are available in different angles too.

I should have pics of the product this weekend, and i hope to install them too. I plan to have the DRL wire cut to exact length with a spade connector on the end. I have a wire model made for measuring the different wire lengths so once i finalize the end product i can whip em out as fast as i can cut, strip and solder.Comment

I finished one side and the other side is ready to solder. This is the prototype to help me figure out lengths of wire and shrink wrap. The final product will vary slightly. I plan to use all black shrink wrap. I think i might just focus on making the brand new adapter, i wouldn't want to sell some with the used connectors and have a clip break or something. The used connectors sometimes don't have enough length and can limit the design. Once i have everything set up and have enough supplies in hand i will make a few sets to order and see how that goes. I will have a final price by monday for the brand new plug and play adapter, it will definitely be over $100 unless i can find another source for those little L connector wires.

Finished the prototype. I will be improving on the design as time goes on, i'm still on the search for parts i can use. We have rain today so can't test them. For the ones i sell i plan to install and test every harness before shipping. Any hardware used is grade 8 or above and metric. I use a nylon spacer to center in the hole with a nut securing the mount to the frame. The harness mounts onto the bolt and is held in place with a wingnut for quick removal.
