FS: STAR TEC Lights (consider selling them individual. Replacment!)

Selling a set of Star Tec Lights that does not match perfectly. The left one is a little darker than the right one. They must have come in different shades or lots.

    Condition:

Left light is almost like new. Very glossy with no cracks or scratchs, except a miniscule chip on inside corner. I'm very picky and am only mentioning it to fully disclose. It would not bother me one bit as it is hardly noticeable and not visible at all when mounted.

Right light has a piece of the lens missing on the inside edge. Functionality is fully intact and once mounted it is not as noticeable. It could probably be fixed if somebody was handy and custom made and glued a piece of acrylic on to the lens.

If you are looking for a set of these, then you are probably aware that a good sets goes for $600-$800 these days.

    Price for this set $450
    or
    Left side $300
    Right side $150

I've never had a mismatched pair when I bought them new. However, over the years I have seen many mismatched sets. I wonder if it's due to the sun/uv or if one light was replaced at some point. Possibly both. Anyway, the price is very fair. I know a local guy looking for a driverside but not sure what shade he needs. I'll tell him about this thread. GLWS.

I am sure some has a need for just 1. And the prices seem to reflect condition. OP, how much darker?

My theory was that the manufacturer went darker later in the production, but what you said could be the case as well. Maybe I just need to hit it with the darker one with a heavy dose of UV light ;-)

I could try to use one of those Night shade sprays ans try to put a light coat of that on the lighter colored one.

The color mismatch is noticeable. Here is what my other set looks like on my car, which is probably a slightly more extreme in mismatch than the set I am selling.

Does the mismatch drive you crazy? I'm a bit of a prefectionist, and I don't pocket an m3 key...
