All e30's are the same! I have the same bar you do and when I tried to put it on it was about 1/2" to 3/4" too long! Jacked up the car because of less stress on towers they tend to separate the slightest bit. Then with a rubber mallet and someone else pulling on it we forced it in. The difference in body flex is worthwhile. Never going back to no strut bar.

You've been given good advice - jack the car up by the middle of the subframe, with both wheels off the ground, the bar should fit with nothing more than some hand motivation. No modification, bending, smashing...
It's the same with all these bars, IE, Sparco, etc. Your chassis has fatigued and the towers have sagged inward over the years.Below the radar...Comment

Tried it dude, a few times. Its obviously not going to fit. You've been given good advice - jack the car up by the middle of the subframe, with both wheels off the ground, the bar should fit with nothing more than some hand motivation. No modification, bending, smashing...

Not so. I bought a bar from Guten parts 2 years ago. Then I bought another one last year. The bar from 2 years ago (which was a Sparco bar) fit both my e30s. The one I bought last year (which was an IE one) didn't fit either of my cars, nor did it fit 2 others ones belonging to friends of mine. And it was not a small difference...and yes, that was with it jacked up the way you are suggesting...You've been given good advice - jack the car up by the middle of the subframe, with both wheels off the ground, the bar should fit with nothing more than some hand motivation. try this... jack the car up from the middle of the font subframe..... leave it up for 15 minutes or so... try to install the bar again with the car in the air, dont be afraid to give it a little push, I kind of had to "pop" mine in place over the bolts
apexgoblin - versteht nicht jeder. Ist auch besser so!
