Hi,
I am posting FS here a 3.0l stroker built by the late Pete McHenry. Below is a description of the engine that I have from an old email from Pete.
"It has been bored and stroked to 2952cc. The compression is 10.2:1. It has forged ultra light pistions, tool steel thin-wall pins, and low drag rings. The stroker crank is a reworked forged steel unit from a late M3. All bearings, seals, waterpump, cam drive, etc are new. The cylinder head has mild porting and is fitted with a Schrick 284/272 dual pattern cam and dual valve springs. Valve guides and seals were all replaced with new. As previously noted, the extreme stroker (7/16") makes use of oil ring support rails because there is little room left above the pin for all 3 rings. This design doesn't hurt power, but it results in higher oil consumption."
That is the description of the engine when I received it roughly 10 years ago.
Mechanically I have not done anything else to it apart from maintenance and wear items. Engine mileage is roughly 40-60k, and that is a very rough estimate.
Notable maintenance
- Head Gasket changed about a year ago, blew btw 4&5
- Water pump replaced recently with early model unit
Asking $1500 picked up
Willing to work out shipping, Price includes the long block only (no power steering, no flywheel, no wiring harness)
