I've receieved feedback from 2 of you that this last batch of seat shocks are a little bit longer than stock. I compared them to the ones I installed in my cabrio and they do in fact seem to be about 4mm longer in the body and overall.

One person managed to install them and the other is still having a challenge. I will say there is plenty of spare range in the seat back shocks so this difference shouldn't be a problem but if anyone else has run in to difficulties please let me know asap.

I also have the Cabrio hinge shocks (w sleeves) in hand and am expecting deck lid shocks tomorrow or Monday so stay tuned.

Do the top hinge shocks make a big difference?
Are they the same price?

Do the top hinge shocks make a big difference?
Are they the same price?

They basically counterweight the top so it's much easier to raise and lower. Same part for an electric top which will take a great amount of stress off your already delicate motors.

$89/pr shipped including new plastic sleeves which seem to be NLA. I also have tonneau struts for $40/pr and if you get both sets together it's $125 shipped

Cool. Im pretty sure mine are the originals. I don't have any problems opening or closing the top so I'm pondering if they are worth it.

I'm getting ready to do my top here soon and I've heard they're easier to install without the top on, so it's one of those "do while in there" things.

I'd say the canvas makes no difference but they might be easier to install with the frame off since you can get at the spring clip from another angle.

Either way it's a 10 minutes job with everything in place so it's more a question of when you feel,like doing it.
