Not straight plug and play but there are plenty of threads on this subject.

I have seen pictures of the retrofit but it has always been unclear what they did to accomplish it.

yes, ideal would be vert specifics. The aftermarket Mt1 shirt people (Ary) will tell you they will fit verts as well but you wonder about their motivation.

You might want to post specific pictures on the issues of the retrofit, so that anyone considering them for a vert could see what needs to be addressed and educate the entire community in the process.

It will be a great thread for discussion as convertibles have a much deeper rocker panel and thus the issue fitment comes to question.

Great info thanks Javier. Looks like I have some research to do. The DTM Fiberwerkz parts in the ebay listing are fiberglass of course. Strange thing is they don't show up on their website.

These are originals made by Metzeler for BMW from urethane. You can see the name molded into the back of the part. If they can be modded to fit a vert that is super cool.

Pic of their showcar from the website. Same car as the ebay listing, but the skirts aren't on the website afaict.

I saw the link from the guy that did the retrofit years ago. It was black vert. The owner used an OEM Mt1 part and the shirts had to be modified. The picture were not that clear (no close ups) but he said the body shop did the work. It look great from a distance.

Not a 100% sure it was a hack job, since I never inspected the work personally. I'd be curious as to how things line up which is why your input would be great since you have the part.

One last comment and a very important one. People on ebay sometimes use OEM pictures to display their aftermarket products. That picture on ebay from Ary might be an OEM part.
