Downing Atlanta Supercharger M42 / M44 - No Longer Available

    Downing Atlanta Supercharger M42 / M44

For sale is a Downing Atlanta Supercharger for an m42 / m44 engine. It is still currently running in a e36 in case anyone is local and wants to see it run before being pulled.

Kit includes everything off the engine that is needed to make it run (can include all pulleys and everything to make it line up in an e30 or 2002) as the drivetrain is being parted out. Miles are unknown, but the bearings are all in good shape and boost builds right up to 6 PSI without any issues.

Looking to get $2500 obo, not sure what the current market is on these. Please let me know if you have any questions or want additional pictures or videos. Also do not pay through Panjo, please pm me. Thanks!

    List Date: 4/19/2017

Do you have the original CARB stickers?

Kit was originally sold in Washington so I don't think it came with a CARB sticker, but I can look through all the original paperwork and see if I have it.

these are very cool on a 318ti, not quite 6cyl power but just enough to have fun and keep weight down GLWS

How does software work for this? Do you have a chip for the M42?

Software depends entirely up to the buyer's application . If it's going on a m42, it would be best to run a standalone or a custom chip for whatever set up you're running. If it's an m44, the ecu will bolt right up and run the car with the supercharger or you could use a custom tune as well.

interesting, what is needed to fit this on an m42 in an e30 besides a standalone tuning setup?

No one makes this car anymore. The government won't allow them, normal people won't buy them. So it's up to us: the freaks, the weirdos, the informed. To buy them, to appreciate them, and most importantly, to drive them.

The only other thing needed would be to convert to a serpentine belt using e36 pulleys (which are included). Then it's pretty straightforward to bolt the rest in. Tuning and related fuel management are the main component missing to get it running in an e30.
