    FS - VDO euro cluster

    SOLD - NO LONGER AVAILABLE

VDO euro cluster that came with my e30. the gas gauge always read full and the speedo would intermittently cut out for 5 mins then work fine for hours.. I've read that this could be an issue with the wrong cluster for the wrong gas tank style. I have the 55L with the single pump...

Either way, maybe it will work just fine for you, or it might be a simple fix if you know these well. since I don't know for sure its $80 shipped.

*also one of the mounting tabs is broken.
*odometer worked great whenever the speedo did

Fyi this has no coding plug so its only for early models and i believe specifically for 318i 84's and earlier

The black rectangle on the back of the tach is the codic plug for the early clusters. Sorta T shaped once removed. You can swap in the 6 cyl codic if you have a 325.

coding plug may have been part of the problem with the cluster and maybe it might work correctly with the right application / coding plug... I tested the gas gauge by applying voltage and adding resistance into the circuit and the gauge operates as its supposed to.

the guy I bought the e30 from had attempted to swap an m50 and didn't have it running correctly. I bought the car for the clean chassis and got the motor as a bonus basically, was able to finished his swap and fixed alot of his errors along the way. this was the cluster he had put in, never checked the coding plug or anything, I just simply swapped it in with one I knew would work...

I did open it up and check the board, all solder points seemed clean and I didn't see anything too concerning... if someone knew much about these I'm sure they could make it work 100%

Not entirely sure. The other one I have is Km/h. This one says 83 on the production sticker on the back if that helps anyone

This is nice..but my mileage will be to far off. I have only 125k on my e30. Was wodering if I could just switch the speedo gauge.

The speedo un screws from the back very simply. Pretty sure that wouldn't be an issue
