Is the gasket part replaceable? If so, my offer still stands, otherwise my CF panel goes in, and it has a new gasket. Gotta have a decent seal in WA.

It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you.

I've heard it was replaceable, I think I saw someone on here talk about replacing it but it could of been another forum. If you want to come pick it up for 400 its your, but thats as low as I'll go.

And how long have you been trying to source one ;)

How many have we seen on the boards...four...five?
Nah, doesn't sound rare to me *shrug*

what seems to have happened is that a couple people put their moonroofs out there, and a couple other people realized they were worth money and the market was biting. That doesn't mean that a hundred will be up for sale anytime, I've never seen more than a handful available at once and it's always been in spurts like the last month's.

I haven't even received mine in the mail yet and I already have a list of people who want to buy it if I ever decide to sell.

No, what you are now seeing is an influx of E30's getting junked, and now you can find parts because we have to be somewhere near the peak of E30's in junkyard inventories. I'll buy that it's an uncommon part, but if you have patience I'm sure you could find one in time. Just because you overpaid doesn't mean I will. Heck, I'd sooner pay more for a pristine one than this particular one, but I keep toying with the idea so I'm willing to sit on one till I decide when I paint the car to go CF or moonroof.

Fly30 - $400 shipped still stands. I'm not as hard up as some here, I'm sitting on a CF lid, and my car is Diamantschwarz with a lot of CF on it. PM me, I'm sure we could come to terms on shipping if you are willing to budge a little more. I am.

Wrong.... actually there hasn't been a time in the past 8-10 years that I've seen as few E30 at the yards. I know cause that's what I do. Usually the local yards would have at least 5 E30's each, right now I'm lucky to find a handful of them at all the yards in a 100 mile radius. The E30 depreciation wash off days are over, the influx you speak off took place a few years ago. Heck the last E30 BMW lease ended 10 years ago.

Although I *did* pay more for a "pristine" one, I never divulged what I paid for it, so I'm curious how you assert that I "overpaid." I can only guess that you're trying to lowball this dude and just blasting away without any idea what you're talking about...

which is similar to what you're talking about in terms of this part.
a quick search will reveal the factual basis for what I'm talking about...each year 4-5 of these come up for sale around the same time. If you want to attribute that to an influx of e30's at the junkyard then go ahead, but I haven't seen all these junked cars you're talking about...I haven't even seen non-junked e30's all over the place with moonroofs. Given that I'm in So Cal, one would think I'd see em somewhere...

^^^ pointless to argue. I see it different from you. I'm trying to stay on track, I simply refuse to buy into something I see as a myth. Heck, if you got a pristine one as you say, PM me - like I said, I'd rather pay good money for a nice one than a great price on a project one. I'd gladly hand over quite a bit more if it was in condition to merit it.
I see enough going around (this isn't the only place they pop up) that people aren't putting demand at the $600 dollar level for one in less than excellent shape. This thread shows that to be the only truth I care about.

According to your profile though, I'd sure like to see where you plan to mount this thing.

Still willing to haggle with you E30fly.......PM me if you want to do this.

Of course this site isn't the only place these pop up. But that's an asinine statement...you've been around long enough to know that the sellers post on multiple boards at once...that doesn't mean there's 20 moonroofs for sale! :D

I plan to mount it on my wife's sedan, if you must know

This isn't pointless to me, because you're diseminating incorrect information. Now, you may not feel that these items are worth the asking price, but that doesn't mean that the items aren't rare. Rarity is based on production numbers and availability--and in this case it's objectively true that both are low. Whether demand is high enough to warrant high asking prices is a subjective matter between buyer and seller--that I never disagreed with.

There are a lot of NLA items I don't particularly care for. But I don't go walking around arguing about their rarity.

EDIT: initially, I was responding to fanzotti, not you Linus, but you decided to start writing toward me.
What I found humorous was that a month ago I started a thread looking for an OEM moonroof and, when someone offered me one, fanzotti jumped in with "Price? Price? Price? Price?"
so I thought it was ironic that his excitement had died down ;)

We know they are rare in your neck of the woods, otherwise you would have had a nicer one to sell last month. I wouldn't take the one you had for the cost of shipping alone.

It's real easy to prove how rare these are -just offer more than me or sit down and zip it. I'd be embarassed to try and push that crusty pile you had. Remember me even offering you a dime? - Now you know why. I was nice then and kept my opinion to myself, but seriously, yours was the worst one I've seen on here so far.

Seriously, step up and teach me a lesson by outbidding me. I'll wait for another, or 'suffer' with what I have.

Smooth - I don't think I said you overpaid (maybe I did, I forget), just that I wasn't going to go overboard on a perceived rare part. I had a shot at yours before it even went public, but I chose to pass. I wasn't willing to pay whatever the final price was. I wasn't overly interested then. I sort of am now, but not for more than I want to pay. Like I stated, I have a CF lid, so it's not like I have no other option.

So, with that said, I still seem to be the only guy offering money instead of an opinion. Hunh.

Look, why don't one of you step up and pay more then? Seriously. I don't care really one way or the other, and I think I'll let my money be the final word on all this. At least I'm offering money, not just crapping this guys' thread up with no money to back it.

FlyE30 - With all the crap flying here, PM me if you want. I'm done debating parts prices with people I'm not even doing business with.

Wow...you need to put the crack pipe down biotch. WTF are you talking about???? Do you even know how to read?? Why would I try an outbid you I am not in the market for a glass roof, the one I sold was in top pristine shape and only the buyer got a chance to se it. So really for you own good stop bitching just cause you haven't been able to afford a decent glass roof. BTW I do have a new old stock glass roof, if you want to put your money where your mouth is I'll sell it to you for $800. Again brand new no excuses for your punk ass.
