Feeler: Complete M50TU swap. Cheap. Pickup only.

    SOLD!

I thought I had a buyer for my complete M50TU swap. However, the buyer's car had a few terminal problems that made it a bad swap candidate.

So, I am putting out a feeler for my complete M50TU swap. It is ready to bolt into an E30 with a round C101. It was installed in a 2/90 318is, and run tested around 120 miles. It should be very easy to drop into most any E30, and comes with most every little part that is usually a pain to track down.

    The swap kit includes:
    1. M50TU (Vanos) engine with 147K. Comp tested at 180 on all 6 cylinders. New genuine BMW waterpump, thermostat housing, 80°C thermostat, valve cover gasket, valve cover grommets (15), new rear main seal. Includes 413 Red Label DME and HFM.
    2. E34 525i oil pan already installed, along with new oil pan gasket, pickup tube gasket, new rear main seal. Oil pump nut secured with Red Loctite 262
    3. Getrag 250 transmission and driveshaft with low mileage (<30K) clutch disc, pressure plate, and throwout bearing. Shift fork, pivot ball, and spring are new, along with a new clutch slave cylinder, and new E36 78mm guibo and transmission input flange bushing. Filled with new Redline MTL. Shift console is included. Starter also included.
    4. Porsche 944 brake booster, with shaft cut / threaded to appropriate length.
    5. Two new E28 M5 hexagonal engine mounts
    6. Limited slip 3.25 differential
    7. New Behr M42 radiator
    8. New K&N air filter
    9. 318is DME bracket, wiring lower bracket, wiring cover
    10. New fuel injection hose to and from fuel rail
    11. All coolant hoses, including M20 rear coolant hose, appropriate for hooking up the head to your heater core bottom pipe
    12. Wiring adapter to go from E36 wiring harness to E30 C101.
I'm asking $1400 for the complete swap, picked up in Massachusetts. It is ready to bolt into your car! It was removed from the car around 2 weeks ago.

    Thanks for looking!

Sounds like a great price. Good luck with the sale.

I initially did the M50 swap so I could sell a 318is with an aging M42 back in May. Good idea, huh?

Recently, I lost interest in doing a whole bunch of bodywork to the car, because really, I wanted to do a balls out engine swap in another 318is that I picked up in June. The new 318is I bought has sat undisturbed for 3 months. So, to jumpstart that project, I'm selling off this swap and parting out the old 318is, and getting it towed to a boneyard.
