ok...so you had cut housings. I just wanted an idea how low one could go. I guess your frt is about as low as GC can go! GL w/ sale

I could have gone down another .25" maybe. But as it was I smacked my pan so I wasnt about to find out how much lower I could take it.

I understand the housings need to cut and modified, but how?

I can't imagine that I just go to a machine shop and tell them, modify it and they would understand what I mean.

I desire a similar setup and damn yours is a helluva deal, but I definitely cannot afford to buy now, but I'd like information on how you went about setting yours up.

          Try some searching Red.........

you dont need to cut housings........it only helps to maintin susp . travel and if u want to go real low. GC offers shortened shocks.....if you dont cut then just drop the GC spacer in the housing. A low car w/o cut housings = bottoming shock out over bad hits.

If you shorten the strut housings you need shorter shocks. Stock length shocks and stock length strut housings work perfectly well and will still get you pretty low. These spring rates should also be a pretty good match for the Bilsteins.

I sent my housings to GC and had them modify them for me. I took my specs around to a few shops, all were slightly confused and cost more than it would to ship it up there and get the modificaitions done by people who have done it various times.

so you are either saying those Bilsteins are not for an e30.... or you are not making sense.

if you cut the housing the struts must be shorter than stock.

Yes.. they are shorter than stock struts.. These are Bilstein Sports.

If i hadnt cut the housings, I could have put a spacer under the strut inside the housing.
