FS: Extrude Honed M20 intake manifold

For sale: Extrude Honed M20 intake manifold -- SOLD

I purchased this from another racer on the e30 boards a couple years ago and have been sitting on it since. I've decided it is time to let it go.

Information on the Extrude hone process can be found here: http://www.extrudehone.com/auto/

    Just FYI,

Anyone can pick up an intake manny for like 30 bucks and then get it done themselves for like 100 to 150.

So 350 is pretty hefty for something that someone can do for under 200 themselves.

Maybe drop the price a bit and you might get some bites.

Just a FYI back, you are sadly misinformed. Go crap on someone else's thread.

uh, no. there is only one place that does it and they have a patent on the process. anyone else selling an extrude hone intake manifold is sending it to the same place.

extude honing a intake is expensive stage 1 is $685 or stage 2 is $765 so this isn't a bad deal at all

you dont need to send it to one place and one place only. I have talked to three different fabrication shops that will do it the price I mentioned above.

There may be a patent on the EXACT process that the company has but that process doesnt need to be followed step for step. There are plenty of privately owned shops that can, will and have done this for just simple labor time.

Maybe you guys should look outside of the internet for places to have custom work done.

I'll call you out on that! Post up the names and phone numbers. Really, let's see them! If you are so concerned about saving the e30 community some money why don't you make yourself useful and post up your findings so others can benefit rather than making unsubstantiated claims.

BTW, the manifold is now sold.

I PM'd 'bigballa' about getting an M20 manifold ExtrudeHoned and this was his response:

                      Hi,

I have an M20 intake manifold that I'd like to modify using a process like ExtrudeHone. You mentioned in a thread that you know of a shop that does this for a fraction of the cost. Can you point me in the direction of this shop?

                      Stu
the location isn't anywhere even remotely close to you. You are in the mid west, I'm on the west coast. These shops are custom fabrication shops that take walk ins. If you think it would be worth it to drive to the west coast for an extrude hone job then so be it. the shop is called West Coast Engine. I dont know the number, just the location. Oxnard, Ca.

                      Hope that answers your question.

                      I LOL'd too.

Here's the number and info for West Coast Engines: http://www.yellowbot.com/west-coast-...oxnard-ca.html

Unfortunately, West Coast Engine & Cylinder Head doesn't do anything like ExtrudeHone, and never has.

Bigballa....We're still waiting to hear about shops that do this service for less than half the price of ExtrudeHone?

Somebody call Lisa Kubo. This is getting interesting. Maybe the place he speaks of does "ExtruderatedHonification" instead.

this is hell-arious! I love to quote things I do not know anything about. I always feel so much better after! Just to play devils advocate, he might be talking about a individual throttle body set-up? I would think the price he quoted id fair for that set-up?? But what do I know I only spent 50 houres porting a s14 head, he prob knows better and does a better job.
