I just barely got the spacers in hand there ace. What was there to take pictures of?

And yes, the SBI spacers were just made of soft spun aluminum, these are billet stock.

-edit- I didnt say r3v wasted my time, I said I wasnt going to waste my time where interest wasnt present. Which is r3v.

The biggest problem with the SBI units was that there was only about 0.020" of material at the step that covers the axle nut. If the dust cover plate was perfectly flat or fully seats, the hubcentric ring would snap off when the wheel was torqued down. My set broke in exactly the same place as well as a bunch of others I've seen.

Since SBI doesn't make these anymore, would you mind posting up some dimensions so that other folks could machine up their own?

Hahahahahahaha This whole thread is redonkulous. Groupie, could you also post the source code for some private sector IT infrastructure, and the Area 51 papers too while your at it?

It's like asking for the secret recipe. This guy made a product, offered to sell it, and you people came in here wanting to capitalize on his work, take his measured drawings and pay a backwater machinist $75.00 for a FeO3 knockoff.

Calm down Farbin. I know you're pissed that David C. won Idol last night but the man asked a legitimate question.

I am sure Curt isn't trying to make his fortune selling these things because materials cost + machinist's time is probably pretty close to the price he's asking if you try to get just a few sets made.

I was calm. I'd have typed in all caps, but my voice is still gone from screaming for those Jonas Brothers and George Michael. I may never recover from last night. I just think it's funny all sorts of people after the info, but not willing to pay for it. I guess the buyer to beggar ratio was a bit high for my taste. I'll go make my breakfast and come balk more calm.

Three wanting specs, three potential buyers.

Ahh ok. An egg white omelette, homefries, and toast would do you good. Or, Costco house-brand oatmeal.

JeffRR is a legit dude. If I recall correctly he's a chassis engineer, not some r3v kid with no cash.

There are a couple ways around the issues with the SBI units. The #1 way is using stronger aluminum. Their units were very cheap and soft.

Again, I am providing a part at next to nil profit. Not the drawings.

I agree that using a higher grade of aluminum is a good idea, but regardless of the material, the 0.020" of material at the failure-prone area is still not a good idea. I wouldn't like the odds even with forged steel.

I also support your not sharing the schematics for the parts. Aftermarket parts is one of those pay-to-play arenas. Unfortunately, a lot of people don't understand the amount of effort and time that goes into making a part and want to make it themselves for nothing and without having to do the homework.

This is what I was talking about, in more calm, sane terms.

The way these are machined is different than the SBI units. That narrow shoulder of material is not anywhere near as bad now.

Batch one is complete, and I have a few "interested parties" for round 2. Again I require prepayment before production.

PSFarbin, I agree with you 100%. Asking for something free that someone else has time and money invested into is ridiculous, IMO. Custom spacers cost a lot to make, and even if he's making $20/set that's worth his investment in time spent researching, dealing with the vendor, fuel costs, etc.

If someone took the time to recreate a rare, NLA Hartge strut bar (for example) and had it made to specs, I can't imagine anyone asking them for the drawings so that they could go make their own. Regardless of if they have money or not.
