George, what did BMW use from the factory? A simple thermistor or something more complicated?
I'm curious how you figured out the correct thermistor/thermocouple to use. Unless you actually went through the meticulous testing/plotting/curve fitting of an oem unit.

That is exactly what I did - I have the graphs to prove it. But, rather than reverse engineering the stock sensor, I mapped the inputs of the OBC itself. It's a bit more complicated than that, you need to not only match the sensor at a calibrated temperature, but also how the logarithmic curve changes over the entire temperature range. I think that should answer your question.

My OBC is long gone, but you keep me updated when you have the little bar graph gauges. I hope that's the project these funds are going towards :D .
