Common misconception. I wish they were, but they aren't.

These seats are 325 cab, or M3 seats, and they were built by BMW under license from Recaro.

You think many things, most of which are wrong.

BMW realized they could save money by making their own seats for the E30 instead of farming out to Recaro like the did with the previous three-series.

i realize that they are not recaro, but thats what everyone knows them by. the last bmw i know that had true recaro's in the USA was the e21 320is to my knowledge

Not around here we don't. We take our E30's very seriously here. ;)

Good luck on your sale. I'd guess they're cabrio seats from the smaller handles for accessing the rear seats.

My pair of sport seats have RECARO label on them. I will shot a pictures very soon to clarify it. I had put these side by side with a pair that don't have the label and they are identical.

In conclusions, Some sport seats are made by Recaro.

Or someone put Recaro labels on yours. Or swapped in Recaros from another car. I've never seen an OEM E30 seat that was made by Recaro. I'd love to see your pics.
