Can you toss up a couple pics of the grill adapter? In your installation pics, you have the inner headlight cover removed, is it possible to retain that at all? I don't like the look of it removed.Keith

, I don't have an inner headlight cover( it broke along time ago) so I'm not 100% sure but I remember it having the hole in the bottom to feed the air box, you may be able to tun the hose through that hole. or you would have to cut an additional hole in it.

What are the numbers like on the stock airbox?Originally posted by kamotorsI'm off to pick and pull now to go get an airbox to test, I dont see how the temps could be cooler than the outside temp but I'm very willing to give it a try. If the temps are equal to outside temps, I'll admit that the stock airbox works very well. I'll continue to sell these because that means they aren't losing any performance when buying this, they get a nice looking 8" cone filter and they get the sounds that come with it.'89 325is S50 Track Montser

O.T=outside temperature
I.A.T= Intake temperature
this drive went threw 4 stop lights,4 miles of freeway, and 4 miles of 35mph roads
The final IAT number is from the second the car is done with the trip and parked.
RESULTS:
cone filter-sounds cool but gets really hot air sucked in even when moving at 60mph
O.T-58
I.A.T-101
NOTE-once it heats up from stop and go traffic it takes speeds of 65mph+ to get them to decrease.
conefilter/shield-better than just a filter but still is't getting cold air
O.T-59
I.A.T-78
NOTE-doesn't get very hot, but also takes a while to cool back down.
airbox- quiet, does a good job at not letting in lots of heat
O.T-61
I.A.T-75
NOTE- It took 4 miles of freeway driving to get the temps to start decreasing, there isn't enough air flow getting to it.switching from conefilter to airbox seems to lose top end power but gain a little below 2000rpms.
airbox with snorkel-
O.T-61
I.A.T-73
NOTE-didn't get as hot as the airbox without the snorkel but takes almost as long to cool down.
conefilter/shield and cold air duct-
O.T-61
I.A.T-63
NOTE-louder than airbox, does not heat up as long as the car is moving, even at speeds of 20mph the intake temps dropped down to the outside temp.
