Thanks - works perfect
Thought I would post a couple pics of the location on a 1986 325. It is located on the driver side of the car. There is no brake air duct so that added to the hunt.
The actual sensor is located in a molded holder that is part of the plastic valance/spoiler; it had to be removed with a couple bolts and couple screws.

Soldered the new sensor onto existing wires and inserted back into original location. There are two holes in the valance; the sensor is located in the lower hole.Last edited by windtrader; 10-23-2016, 03:57 PM.Comment

Hello, not sure what the difference between the red colored ones you sold before and these blue ones? I bought a red one brand new in packaging from a forum member a few months back, when I installed it, it doesn’t seem very accurate.... seems about as accurate as my original factory one, which shows only accurate when driving down a highway for a while.....I cut the connector off and soldered the connections with weather shrink, I zip-tied the sensor carefully to the bundle of wiring that is just above the driver fog light (just behind the original 86 diving board bumper) I figured it would keep it out of the sun...my reading only seems to be close to accurate driving on a long highway... any tips or advice? I swapped the redrocketlabs one because I wanted to read accurate outside temp, thanks

Sure - I'm the kind of seller that will replace anything you think you have an issue with. But with that said, I test every sensor that ships out. I don't just say I test them, or pretend to test them, I actually measure the room temp with a scientific grade thermometer(+/- 0.1F), and then test every single one of them by hand to make sure they are accurate. Then, if any of the units are more than 1 degree out, I put them in the trash. I do that for every one I ship.
What I have found is that people install the too close to the engine, and of course, that's going to throw off the reading. Engines get hot. They put out hot air. Or they drive by a Bank, and the sign says it's 50, and your OBC say it's 48. I'll tell you, the bank singe is wrong. It just is.
If you have any issues, send it back. Pm me and I'll get you squared away.Originally posted by Matt-Bhey does anyone know anyone who gets upset and makes electronics?Comment
