you are supposed to clamp the coupler on^ also the included clamps are for the duct not the coupler, you need to use your own 3" clamps for the 3" coupler.

start by completely installing the AFM into the OEM boot, then install coupler onto intake and then install it on to front of AFM.

Ok, that was going to be my next step, grabbed a couple 3" clamps at Autozone, hope this does it.

@kamotors, Will you be attending Bimmerfest? Might be a good idea to have group buys and bfest pickup for these. Also, might be a good idea to have complete kits incl. adapters and stuff to have everything for a bolt on thing. it will be nice to have a whole lot of cars with your intakes showing at bfest when hoods are popped.

why is the coupler not staying on? its a tight fit even without a clamp, Wish I could install it for you, but I'll try my best to help here. You will have enough room I've installed dozens of setups. Basically forget about the duct for now and install that from the front with the headlights and grill out.

Remove stock airbox and AFM together by loosening hose clamp and mounts.

                    Remove AFM from airbox

Install adapter onto AFM(new bolts may be needed)

install my filter with coupler onto the end of the AFM, before you put it into the car.

Remove headlight shield, grill and headlight(this is to gain access to put the front duct on easier)
It is possible to do with out removing but its pretty easy to pull those items off.

Move the cruise control unit off to the side and slightly bend the bracket that the air box was attached to, towards the driver side fender. This is to stop any damage to the carbon fiber finish that engine vibrations and movement may cause. Many customers don't do this but it makes life easy.

You now need to maneuver the Kamotors intake and AFM as one into the engine bay. the 3 ribs on the intake elbow boot to throttle will need to compress.

Now you need to slide the 3" duct onto the front of the unit, spinning the duct will help.

                    reinstall headlights and grill.

The straight bracket that was included can be used with the round bracket or by itself. the round bracket is not 100% needed, but the straight piece can be installed through the hose clamp and fastened to the body and will more than suffice.

after that your car should be good to go. You can give your ECU 10 minutes to adjust and then your car should pull nicely and have a nice growl.

                      probably not sadly.

looks good, but those clamps dont usually clamp very tight on a 3" coupler(they are normally for the front duct) so I suggest regular 3" clamps for that.

They are a little big but my 3" coupler wouldn't allow me to get intake on to coupler. It was too tight even at most open position.
