At lower speeds your 3.0 rack will be harder to turn compared to the 4.0, but the improvement you will see at speeds over 5 mph will make it very worth it. The leak where the shaft goes in shouldn't give you much of a problem. Sorry, I don't have that part number.

Hey Carlos, I'll take one.
I also spoke to Jay and he said you're heading out of town. He told me he already had the parts car deal situated and I'll pitch in some $$ for that.
If you're still in town give me a shout or you can give me a ring when you're back.Erick Mahle | FullOpp Drift | YouTube

Sounds good, I'll save you one. I think I got a guy coming to pick it up Tuesday morning. I'm in Orlando for the weekend, I'll give you a ring when I get back.

I've got the 3.2 rack with no PS, it takes some extra effort for parking lot driving but not bad.I am SERIOUSLY CONCIDERING THIS, but i have a few questions for you first.
i am replacing my stock 4.0 rack that leaks with a 95 M3 3.0 that has a leak where the steering shaft goes in (but all new boots inner/outer tie rods). will there be a bigger difference with the 3.0 rack VS the 4.0 (both without PS) at low speed turning?
i have a 914-6 w/o PS and did the loop delete on my itb golf so i have some idea what it will be like. i have never changed ratios along with the delete though.
do you know the size or part number for the non power steering v belt?
i will have to loose the PS stuff to mount the S/C and $30 beats the $80-ish for a rebuild kit so i can nail 2 birds with one conny
And definitely won't bother you!Need parts now? Need them cheap? steve@blunttech.com

I took my PS belt off last night to try this out and I gotta say that it sucks unless you are on the highway. Anything over ~20 degree turns and it is hard as poop. So my question is: will the delete make it easier to turn than just taking off the belt since there is more resistance with the fluid going throught the pump and lines and all that jazz?
If anyone has tried both before then let me know so I don't take apart my PS system to find that it is the same.Comment
