    Craigslist S50 in Olympia, WA

Ok, I'm not one to link to Craigslist ads, but I'm linking to a CL ad.

I talked to the dude and he says he got it for free from his friend when the car got wrecked in the rear. '95 engine, tranny, and get this... the front suspension. All for $600. It's been sitting in his "shed" for 6 months and he needs the money.

if its still around tonight i might go down and pick it up...

but i wonder if its an s50 or an m50, alot of people think 325 or a 318 with an m badge on the back makes it a m3.. lol...

He got it for free, so you could probably still get it for $300. You'd get a sweet set of cast manifolds with it! S50, M50, it's all the same...

it is a sweet deal none the less, but an s50 an m50 are not the same.. very diff bottom ends, one is 189hp and the other is 240hp... a regular m50 is usually not even worth swapping into an e30 (cost of the swap parts) but this would be a good buy for the suspension and all of the obd1 parts for a s52 or m52 build ..

You are taking me literally. An M50 and S50 is the same to some dude with a shed that doesn't know any thing about BMW's. An M50 for $300 would be a fair deal for the parts and OBD1 stuff. An S50 for $600 with tranny would have been an awesome deal, it could just as easily have been that if he doesn't know what it is.

I checked the VIN: This is from a 10/92 325i.

I could be wrong, but isn't this the same guy that tries to sell this motor every few months? Seems like the same pictures I have seen with prices from $1200 to $2800. I called the first time and some russian guys says "Don't know, was wreck, good price" to every question I asked. Just wondering.

No. I bought the S52 from Uri the Russki. I did a carfax and VIN search on it and it was exactly what they said it was. Awesome deal for $1200 complete! They were in Federal Way not Olympia.

where did you get the vin from? call the guy and ask for it off the block??? guess it doesnt matter what year it is, as long as the mileage checks out. pretty nasty seepage above the exhaust manifold.
