Don't want to poop on your thread, but some of the e34 trans won't work in an e30. They have a longer tail shaft that is too large/long to fit inside the bushing at the front of the e30 drive shaft - might want to take a look at that. We ran into this about a year ago, ended up just angle grinding the end of the shaft off to get the car back out to the race in a pinch...
