I also own an 02 E46 sedan as a daily. Above the rear view mirror located on the panel next to the sunroof switch is a rectangular cutout with a vented plate. While doing a reupholstery for the roof, I noted there is nothing behind that vented cutout. That would be a great place for a microphone. Only problem is the area behind the plate does not have much clearance. I already have the microphone in my E30 that snaps into a vacant spot above the stereo. It works perfect with my Alpine head.
Is there a microphone out there made for that E46 spot?
