ISO: M20 Engine Bay Parts (2.5L and 2.7L)

Hey all, I hope everyone's holiday weekend was better than mine.

This past Saturday, my car (most likely) popped an old fuel line and caught fire. I was super lucky that it happened a block away from a fire station so the damage was not nearly as bad as it could've been, but nonetheless it was burning for about 10 minutes so most of the engine bay was toast. I've spent the last couple days cleaning it out and assessing the damage, so now comes the time to source new parts.

A little background on this car: I am the second owner and I bought it from the original owner about 7 months ago. He did not take good care of it and it was in very bad shape. Long story short, the engine and transmission were covered in about 1/4" of gunk from leaking for 20+ years. I spent quite a bit of time and money bringing it back to an acceptable state which included every maintenance item and refreshing most of the old sensors and hoses and such in the engine bay, although it is worth mentioning that I didn't finish refreshing the fuel system, which in hindsight should've been higher on my list.

So far, I've removed the entire engine harness (toast), all coolant hoses (mostly toast), brake fluid reservoir/master cylinder/booster (toast/fine/maybe fine), airbox (toast), radiator (probably toast), and messed with the fuse box (housing is a bit melted but no wires seem to be damaged, which is a relief).

I had been looking into a 1.3 Motronic upgrade (https://www.r3vlimited.com/board/for...ow-to?t=100939) before this happened, and seeing as most of the parts I would be replacing melted away, that route seems promising for me.

ISO: from M20B25: intake manifold, throttle body, injectors, AFM, fuel pressure regulator (3.0bar), all pulleys(fan, water pump, crankshaft), thermostat housing, 173 ECU, all 1.1/1.3 Motronic harness and sensors, spark plug wires; from M20B27: most other engine bay parts; a white hood, white front fenders
If anyone is parting out a car or has these parts in SoCal, I can pick up.

Also, I'm very early in the damage-assessment process so if anyone has experience with this kind of damage and can give pointers on what to look out for in terms of unseen/unsuspecting damage, that would be much appreciated!

    Thanks in advance!

I bought a car that had an engine fire. There was a lot of corrosion once I started pulling everything out. I ended up wire wheeling, rust treating and painting the engine bay and sub frame.

That's a good point! I'm going to scrub down the engine bay tomorrow to get all the ash and soot off to see what I'm working with, then most likely treating it all like you say. Thanks for that!
