    WTB lightly used shocks

i'm looking for a good set of shocks all around to match my h&r sport springs. my budget is around $350, give or take a little. i've only heard good things about bilstein sports. blunttech has em for $440 new so i think i can find a good condition, lightly used set for less than that.

    thanks

If you have only heard good things about Bilstein Sports that is because you haven't read what I have to say about them.

I have them on my late model. I hate them with a freaking passion. If you aren't stupid low and stupid stiff, they are massively overdamped. Best described as "crashy", every bump feels like you are crashing into something.

YMMV, of course, but 99% of the billie love is from either stupid stiff/low cars or fanbois who have 200,000 mile crapped out stockers.

    Closing SOON!

Luke, shut the hell up. Seriously. What springs do you have on that late model?

hmm...definitely not looking to get too hyphy with my setup. i simply want better ride quality with a lower, more aggressive stance.

Height will come with springs, ride comes from shocks.

NOT TRUE. Thats what they both affect initially yes. I have smoothed out my 'ride' ridiculously by matching a linear spring to my bils sports. The progressive setup that all the lowering springs use, is literally useless and actually makes for a harsher ride when lower.

I was speaking in my "Talking to Kids" voice. I had GC coils with linear springs paired with Billy sports and LOVED it so I know exactly where you're coming from.

Curt, seriously, YOU shut the hell up. I have ridden in and driven about a zillion cars with Billies in all kinds of configurations...from you guys rolling stupid low and hard as fuck (like you and Brendan) to the wifes car on stock springs...can you say that?

How many miles you got on soft (H&R Sport is what this guy has, remember?) springs and billie sports?

Don't forget, bucko, I been around these damn things since they were new.

I have a set of Bilstein used rears. One is a little slow on the rebound for my liking.

I've OWNED: a car with Pro-Kits/Billies, a car with Sports and Billies, a car with OE Sports and Billie HDs, and the aforementioned GC/Billie combo. Not to mention I've driven countless customer cars with all sorts of setups. Billies are fine and totally fine with Sports although Races might be the better choice for the performance-mined driver. They get harsh when your springs are too soft and/or you're too low. Those internal bump stops should be renamed BANGstops. There's no "bump" about it...

Basically my point is they're not perfect but they beat the shit out of KYBs...

I'm not sure of the miles, maybe 8k? The worked fine when I pulled them and I was the original owner. How's $140 shipped sound?

OE sport, M3 spring, H&R OE Sports, H&R Sports, H&R Race, Eibach Pro kit, IE3 etc etc Had them all.

H&R sports with billies, I would estimate about 40k miles old man.

H&R sports with stock springs? Yes, that will ride like shit.
