    WTB instrument cluster

My cluster appears to be dying (and possibly suffering from loose connections). The odometer only counts 2/3 of the miles, and the tach is noisy (which is very irritating), and that biases me against repairing it (I'm not sure how I'd shut it up).

I'm under the impression that I can throw a motometer cluster in (I have a VDO now) and it'll plug in without issue - is that correct? The idea of having a potentiometer to calibrate the speedo is appealing to me (the speed chime agrees with GPS, the speedo doesn't).

Anyone have one for me? Am I wrong on any of my assumptions?

EDIT: car is a 2/87 build, if that matters.

You're correct. The speedos have always been optimistic in my BMW's. I have a VDO cluster if you're interested. $80 shipped.
