Trade: My working speedo/odo for your broken one

I want to trade my 100% working speedometer, which was rebuilt in '99, for one that is working electrically, but has broken gears or maybe a missing needle or something.

My main requirement is the PCB on the back of the speedo is 100% intact and functioning.

I'd just hack this one apart but since it works somebody else may as well get to use it. :)

I've also got an SI board (working I think), a tach, temp gauge, coding plug and a fuel gauge to eventually sell.

I'm also in requirement of a nice lense/cover for an E30 cluster.

Do you know if the fuel gauge will work on my 318iS? I replaced the whole cluster and I'm assuming I bought a cluster that is for a 325iS with 2 level senders, (correct me if I'm wrong). I currently have the issue where the 1/2 mark is an empty tank, (thankfully the light still comes on). I'm looking to replace just the fuel gauge. Thanks!

I think the 318is also has two level sensors? this is a gauge from a 325i though, so if that's your problem it won't help. I'm not quite ready to sell the fuel gauge yet anyway, I need it for some testing - will be a couple weeks.

actually, your cluster could be from an earlier 325i with a single level sensor. I'm pretty sure my guage should work on a 318is. the gauge itself is pretty unlikely to go bad.

edit: 318is has one sender. my fuel gauge won't work for you. you need a 318is fuel gauge.

I'd be willing to make that trade. I've got a couple good speedos. PMing.

          Bummer:

Sorry to get anyone's hopes up! The gears are indeed broken. :( Since it was pretty much free, i wasn't sure if it really worked or not, and i wanted to test it. I hooked it up to a sim, and the speedo works but not the odo. I found the broken gear after looking at it really hard.

I may as well just gut this one. I will still have the rest of the cluster to part out, and i can test it all too.
