WTB: Short Shifter

buy one on ebay, last one I saw was like $10 shipped.

for $20 you can afford:

foam piece in the selector rod ($2)
plastic socket bearing cup for shift lever $8

and a selector shaft seal ($7).

there goes $17; order the parts new dealer because playing ghetto parts pick up from your local e30 pnp poopsmith costs too much in gas/time.

dont even bother changing the shifter if its out of your $20 budget.
BMW OEM shift levers are WEAR ITEMS; yes the rubber inside the shift lever delaminates = worthless garbage over time.

buy a NEW z4 lever at the dealer. $60. done

I'm gonna replace that stuff too (mainly the cup). The $20 budget is for just the shifter itself. I know it wears out. Some ebay ones are metal and I've heard that some of them feel amazing so I'd like to give it a try.

So I got a Z3M shifter from Patrick (e30shmobberr i believe) for....$20. I bought a brand new bushing from the dealer. And the shifter is awesome. Absolutely awesome in every way.
