I was schooled on this concept once. Exhaust manifolds are stock, exhaust headers are aftermarket. This old guy called me out on this and really broke my balls for calling stock exhaust manifolds by their aftermarket name "headers".

stock headers are also the best. dont waste youre money on an aftermarket NA manifold (if someone even makes one)

they go my many names exhaust manifolds, headers, extractors. the old man was just used to most older cars that have cast exhaust manifolds and aftermarket ones being tubeular steel headers, ususlay stock is called manifolds and aftermarket are called headers but some cars like the m42 powered e30 have tubular exhaust manifolds from the factory. its just a name doesnt really mean one thing or another to most
