Seriously though, I know it's not an amazing offer, but its the new lowest I'd be willing to go. It's fine if you're not interested, I just thought I'd give you the heads up :)

Umm maybe he doesn't want to sell it all that badly. It's his and he can ask whatever he wants these things aren't cheap.

I think you are right. He loves it too much. It is understandable. He told me I have to pry it out of him! :D
I actually don't mind spending $2k or even little more on the hardtop but I will spend that much for a finished hardtop matching my desired specs so if Vivek's hardtop was white with a headliner I wanted, then I would pay it in a heart beat!

However, I just bought one from one of the members locally so I am no longer looking. Next, it will go to the paint shop to get painted alpine white!
Then, new black suede headliner!! :-)

completely agree as well. but it also sends an unreasonable signal to everyone else about what an unrestored top may be worth. I've been trying to find one locally on my side for months now. extending the search..

following bimmerboy12's lead.. sweet plan for a sweet ride. you'll have Vivek's $2k in it by then, but it will be fully restored and customized to your ride.

I got an extra hardtop in Hawaii, for $1,300 can have it crated and ready for pickup at Los Angeles "Aloha Freight" warehouse.

Packing into wooden crate, 6x4x3 feet and about 100lbs.

$ 1,300 at Los Angeles warehouse ready for pickup or further shipping at buyers expense.

Remind me again how stripped, painted, a black headliner, and a brand new OEM rear window is unrestored?

Hardtop is being prepared! It is almost done. I will be picking it up from Oliver Monday.
I think it looks awesome inw white. It will go to upholstery shop to get black Alcantera headliner immediately! :-)

Actually it looks like I will be doing the headliner myself. Looks like it is easy enough. I just need to hunt for the material! :-)
