Nah, he's got a point. It's a good alternative. E36/E34's are very common in the junkyards and are likely to have nicer floormats than an E30. I grabbed a few E34 mats for $5 each. They fit the E30 pretty decently. E36 mats are a little shorter if I'm not mistaken. E34's are larger. In my silver M3, I opted to go with new OEM E30 mats since they are the proper mats and I got them at a good price. If you're not overly anal, E34 or E46 mats are hard to beat and can be had dirt cheap from the junkyard.

I'm getting a new set of OEM floor mats in black. My 87 still has the original OEM mats, which I believe might be the color you want. Old, but no holes or anything. Problem is I just dropped car off to be painted. If you aren't in a hurry I can grab them for you soon. You can pick 'em up for free.

I have to agree. To me $100 for brand new OEM mats is a very fair price and worth every penny.
