    WTB: m42 cam locking tool

I am looking to buy a camshaft locking tool for timing m42 engines.
If you have one you want to sell, please let me know how much you would like for it.

    Thanks!
    Dan

There is a thread on Bimmerforum I think but the cheapest way to do it that accomplishes the same thing is

1 - piece of key stock
            2 - HF mini c-clamps

Take the key stock, rotate the cams until the square lobes are flat (same position needed for the tool). Lay key stock across the top, take c-clamps and clamp it to the cams. (a little grinding on the clamps may be needed for clearance. you now have like a $15 cam clamp system.)

I know I don't need it, but I would rather have one, instead of timing it without the tool and accidentally messing something up.

I found the Thread, looks like a great way to do it, and save a lot of cash. Thanks for letting me know about it!!
