HELP! Need a guibo bolt & nut! A.S.A.P.

I Need a guibo bolt & nut! Or a set of bolts & nuts if not the same as mine!

Mine is a 12mm diameter, 1.5mm thread size, and between 55-60mm long (not including the head). I'll use any set that is 12mm if i cant get another exact of this one. The exact bolt came from a 1987 325e manual trans, But MANY models have similar sets. realoem has an incorrect part number for me. so idk what to do.

i seem to either have lost mine or maybe never had one in the first place when i bought my trans for my swap. I am wrapping my project up and only have two of these at the moment, i need three to continue, I want to drive it lol!

    Possible donors are E30, E34, E36, E39, E46, E53, E60, E70, E83, E85, E86, E90, E91, E92, E93, Z3.

Pelican parts has the bolts and nuts. Look under e36 flex disks and you will find them. You are supposed to buy new nuts anyway as they are one time use only.

I know I could buy a new set of something from another model that would serve as a non-exact replacement. I just thought if anyone happened to have them it'd be faster and cheaperand i could get on with my project.

And these bad boys are only supposed to be used once? I've seen that and I've seen that people have re-used them. I personally would re-use them. I can't see how something like this would wear out that fast. I mean i can see it if it were a nylon lock nut, or te new style steel collar lock nuts, but not so much this style. I'm not saying I know you're wrong. Or even that I'm right at all in any way. I respect your answer. just posing an idea because i don't know the reasoning.

      thanks for the reply :)

You mean one of these? I have the whole set but do you mean 4 or 8 when you say set?

Let me know if you want it and how many. I'm going to ship a couple items this morning so I can package these up and send them to you.

If I'm Not Mistaken, The bolt in this photo appears to be 10mm diameter (for the smaller giubos, "i" cars.). I Need a set of 3, in the larger 12mm diameter. (used on the larger giubos, from "e" cars)

correct me if i'm wrong! thank you! :)

It's a lock nut and you don't want to reuse them because if one works its way loose then it could tear up the whole guibo and cost you a lot more, but you can do whatever the hell you want with your car!

I mean I know it's a lock nut, but i just am not aware of these types of lock nuts losing effectiveness. however, I am aware that I could be 100% wrong. i'm not trying to create an argument or anything. Just a conversation. I'm not mad. just wanted to converse :) no hard feelings mayne.

The nuts do become oval. I have reused several over the years and never had a problem though.

I was saying that the nuts are oval to begin with- that's how they come. that's how they "lock" onto the bolt. because the narrower diameter oval has to stretch onto the threads.

or i have the totally wrong idea. lol

They are oval to begin with, you're not going crazy. As for my bolts, they are from a 89 325i. I didn't know there was a difference between the I and the E cars, I apologize.

On a side note, I'm going to the JY tomorrow (if it doesn't rain again) for another member on here that is needing some parts and I offered to look for what he needs so if you want me to look for the bolts I can if you still don't have them.

                      Thanks

                        yeah that's what I thought.

And yeah, the "e' cars had bigger, heavier giubos with larger diameter bolts. My guess is that bigger giubos=more vibration dampening and shock dampening, but more rotating mass. because the "e" cars were meant to be more "economy" and smooth for the street etc. But the "i" cars have lighter/smaller parts for responsiveness and tightness of driveline.

                        guessing. lol.

and yeah if you see anything that is very easily accessible that's be nice :) if not i'll just order some newer guibo bolts that will substitute. I just know the prices are high and special order will take awhile lol.

                        thank you sir.

I just got back from the the JY and only saw 1 E30 there and it was a 325 vert. I'm sorry I couldn't find what you're looking for. I think your best bet is the dealer. It would def be quicker.

                            Thanks
